Playto aka Panos began volunteering at Capital Slam and Urban Legends in 2011, taking the stage here and there but mostly in the background scorekeeping at the Mercury Lounge or the Architecture building of Carleton. In 2014, he stepped up to support his poetry husband Apollo the Child as co-director of the Urban Legends Poetry Slam. They proudly expanded it into a collective with an open mic show, a youth program, a writing circle and a short-lived story slam. They were also the first duo to get grants for the collective, making sure its future was sustainable. As a poet, he represented Urban Legends twice, competed internationally and put out two chapbooks. These days, he is cheering on the collective from home while growing with his family of four.
