Born and raised in Edmonton on what is traditionally known as Amiskwaciwâskahikan, KazMega is an award-winning composer, wordsmith and visual artist of Caribbean descent. Deeply rooted in New York/Jamaican Hip Hop culture, KazMega uses his direct connection to displaced Hip Hop pioneers to inform his art as an authentic representation of the Kulture as it relates to this land at this time.
His professional music composition experience includes
- Alberta Media Production Industry Association's Best Original Musical Score (Drama under 3 minutes) in 2020
- working with Intel Corporation in July 2015, where he collaborated with talented artist Titilope Sonuga.

As a Writer/Performer/Composer/Producer, KazMega has been actively creating music since September 2008, spanning over 16 years. His professional background includes:

His workshop facilitation demonstrates his music production expertise, particularly in group beat production. Since 2014 KazMega has designed curriculum for clients ranging from Denver World Music Studios to remote communities on indigenous reserves where topics range from:
